With the regular legislative session half over, the prospects for significant educational policy change have substantially been clarified since the beginning of the session in January. Likely action will be take place in several significant areas: accountability, school finance, property tax changes, reporting requirements, deregulation, economic development, and new information systems. In each of these areas, major legislation has been filed and will be considered in the coming weeks.
