The House Ways and Means Committee passed a committee substitute to SB 1 (homestead exemption) from committee on Thursday.  This is part of the now reduced tax relief package compromise between the House and the Senate.  The overall tax relief package is now approximately $3.8 billion (about a $1 billion less than the introduced plans).

The House and Senate budget conferees adopted the funding level for the Foundation School Program for 2016-17 biennium ($1.5 billion over current law).  The conferees decided to use most of the Senate proposal on school funding, which is well below the House's original proposal of $2.2 billion ($3 billion with the passage of HB 1759).
