The USDE press release information from the announcement of Race to the Top finalist states can be accessed at

The 16 finalists, chosen out of 41 applicants based on an average of five reviewers' scores, include: Colorado, Delaware, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachussetts, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina and Tennessee. Representatives must present their proposals in DC at mid-March; the presentations will be captured and posted to USDE's web site. Final determinations on Round 1 will be made in April 2010.
