We have posted a report by the Council of Chief State School Officers on state end-of-course policies. The report outlines some of the issues that must be considered when implementing EOCs. Tables at the back of the report describe state-by-state policies related to EOCs. These tables show that 10 states, including Texas, are including the tests in student grades. None of the other nine states, however, are implementing as many tests as Texas. Texas also appears to be unique in using all EOCs in student grades as well as using all EOCs as contributing to graduation eligibility.
