State leadership releases $11.2 billion in ESSER III funding

Gov. Abbott’s office issued a press release this afternoon announcing that $11.2 billion in federal stimulus dollars from ESSER III will be released, and that none of these dollars will be used to supplant state funds. This represents approximately two-thirds of the stimulus dollars sent to Texas schools through ESSER III, with the final one-third to be distributed upon approval by the U.S. Department of Education.
